Data Transfer / Month
This is the amount of data that can be sent from our web server out to your
visitors. Net Specialists offers large amounts of data transfer for
your hosting account. Accounts that exceed their transfer allocation will be
required to upgrade to the next service level. Enterprise accounts exceeding their
transfer allocation will be billed at the rate of $6.00 per GB (gigabyte) per
month over the base allocation; or, to upgrade to a Dedicated Server
account.
Disk Storage
The amount of disk space on our server that your web site is given.
Accounts that exceed their disk space allocation will be required to upgrade
to the next service level, however to date, only one of our customers
has exceeded their disk space allocation, due to the generous amount of disk
space included with each account. Enterprise accounts exceeding their disk
space allocation will be billed at the rate of $6.00 per GB (gigabyte) per month; or, to upgrade to a Dedicated Server account.
Fast T3 Connections
T3 lines are very high speed data connections that we use to connect your
web site to the rest of the internet. The high speed, high bandwidth
lines ensure that your web site will come up quickly when people visit your
domain.
Domain Name Registration / Transfer
We will submit a Domain Name Registration or Transfer request and have your web address mapped to our
servers. New Domain Name registration costs $25.00 for the first year. You will need to renew your Domain Name
every year after that, currently at the rate of $25.00 per year.
Domains transferred to our registrar from another will be renewed for one
year additional to the current expiration date of the domain in question and
will incur a one year renewal fee.
Full Graphical Web Traffic Statistics
Your account includes detailed statistics and graphs showing who has been
visiting your web site. You can even see how many people are on your
site at any given time.
Access to
Raw Log Files
In addition to the Full Graphical Web Traffic Statistics provided with
your hosting account, you also have access to the raw log files generated
by the server. You may download these and use them with any log analysis
tools you have.
Microsoft® FrontPage®
2002 Server Extensions
Microsoft® FrontPage® allows you to create and maintain your web site easily. When
developing web pages in FrontPage, all you have to do is click the Publish button
and FrontPage automatically updates just those pages you've changed.
FrontPage also has some very nice built-in features such as e-mail response forms and more.
24 x 7 FTP
Transfer
In addition to the FrontPage server extensions, you can also access your
web site 24 hours a day via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). This is useful
for quickly transferring files to or from your web site. You can access
your site via FTP using Microsoft Internet Explorer or an FTP program,
many of which are available for free.
Domain
Pointers
Each hosting account is allotted a certain number of Domain Pointers. A
domain pointer allows you to point other domains to your hosting account
without requiring you to pay for another account. For instance, if your
domain is superstore.com and you also own a domain called megastore.com,
you can use one of your Domain Pointers to have all traffic from
megastore.com automatically routed to superstore.com.
UPS /
Generator Backup
All Net Specialists' web servers are connected to the electrical utility
lines via UPS (uninterruptible power supply) equipment. In addition, a
natural gas-fed electrical generator is automatically engaged in the
event of a wide-spread electrical outage. So while your competitors are
waiting for the lights to come back on, your web site will still be
taking orders. Finally, Net Specialists uses web servers which
include redundant power supplies - if one fails, the backup supply is
engaged automatically.
24 x 7 Tech
Support
Net Specialists tech support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
via e-mail by writing to support@netspecialists.com.
Toll-free telephone support is available from 9:00AM to 5:00PM Central
time by calling 847-908-2900 x258. All support requests are handled on a
first-come, first-served basis. Every attempt is made to handle all
requests in the minimum timeframe possible.
E-Mail Addresses (POP accounts)
This is the number of standalone e-mail addresses you are allowed. For
instance, you can add a user account to your web site for Joe Brown with
the username joe and a password of mypassword. Now, Joe
Brown can set up his mail program to receive mail at joe@yourdomain.com
using his e-mail address and password combination. In addition to a certain
number of standalone e-mail addresses, you also get Unlimited E-Mail
Forwarding (see next item).
Unlimited E-Mail Forwarding
Using the built-in mail system that comes with your account, you can set up
unlimited aliases to forward mail from a particular name (for instance,
sales@yourdomain.com) to any e-mail address you choose. So, you could
set up sales@yourdomain.com to be forwarded to judy@salesreps.com, etc.
E-Mail Autoresponders
Autoresponders allow you to send pre-written messages to anybody who sends
mail to a particular e-mail address at your domain. For instance, you
can set up an Autoresponder so that anybody who sends mail to info@yourdomain.com
receives a message back saying "Thank you for contacting us...we will
get back to you shortly!", etc.
Configure E-Mail from the Web
You do not have to contact Net Specialists when you want to add POP
accounts, aliases, e-mail autoresponders, etc. You have complete
control over and access to your mail settings at any time. A simple
control panel with various menus and forms allows you to add, remove and
modify these settings at will. This feature is available through your
web site control panel.
WebMail Interface
Through your web site, control panel, you can enter your e-mail address and password, and
access your e-mail account right from the web. You can reply to messages, forward
messages, create new message, etc. all from this interface.
Vacation Message Support
Another feature of your hosting account mail system allows you to set up a Vacation Message. For
instance, if you will be out of town for a week, you can activate Vacation
Message support for your e-mail address and the system will automatically
respond to any mail you receive at that address with a message of your
choosing, such as "Hi...I will be out of the office until the 15th.
I'll respond to your message as soon as I return. If you need to
contact me in an emergency, you can page me at 800-555-9876", etc.
MS Access Database Connections
All of our Web Hosting accounts are able to connect to MS Access databases.
MS SQL Server
2000
Corporate and Enterprise accounts include a certain amount of storage
and connection to our SQL Server.
ASP and ASP.NET
supported
All of our Web Hosting accounts support ASP and ASP.NET. These are
Microsoft programming languages that allow you to create dynamic content on
your website.
Server Side
Includes
You can use Server Side Includes within your hosting account by saving
those pages as .shtm or .shtml pages. Both FILE and VIRTUAL include types
are supported.
Password
Protected Directories
Corporate and Enterprise account allow you to password-protect directories
inside your web site. This allows you to assign a username and password to
those areas to keep out the general public, but to let in users to whom
you have given the access credentials.
E-Commerce
Ready
All Net Specialists web hosting accounts allow you to conduct e-commerce.
The necessary ingredients vary depending on your specific needs, but all
accounts either include or have the option (for a reasonable fee) to
include a shopping cart and private SSL certificate...the two most
important technologies behind E-Commerce.
SSL Secure Server Available
All of our hosting accounts can be set up with your own Secure Server
Certificate. These certificates allow you to conduct secure
transactions on your web site, which is essential if you're going to be
taking orders online or if you want to protect sensitive information.
Secure Server Certificates are available from Thawte.
Cart32 Shopping Cart
All of our Windows 2000 Web Hosting accounts have access to a Shopping Cart
program. The program is very flexible and allows for various shipping
values and either Secure or non-secure order processing. The program
requires a one-time $200 setup fee.
Number of
Products Allowed
Any web hosting account using the Cart32 Shopping Cart system is allowed
an unlimited number of products. Many web hosting companies charge more
per month depending on how many products you are selling through your web
site.
Real-Time
Credit Card Processing
This feature allows your shopping cart to send and process credit card
purchase data in real-time over the internet, eliminating the need for
processing software or hardware.
Shockwave,
Flash, MIDI, WM Support
Your site can feature rich media content such as Flash, MIDI files, Windows
Media files, etc.
